1. WALKING THE BEACHES
Pretty obvious but there are so many options to choose from…the open, shell filled Robberg, or a rocky walk from central beach to lookout, or a long stroll to the river mouth on lookout, or working up an appetite on Keurbooms before your pizza at Enrico; make sure you explore them all! You’ll often be walking with dolphin watching over or sea otters surfing alongside you in the waves.
2. EXPLORING THE PLETT WINE ROUTE
Yes! Who knew? A little gem of a journey just outside of Plett near along the N2. You absolutely cannot miss sipping bubbly and eating tapas in the vineyards at Bramon or cozying up next the wire with a cheese plater at Kay & Monty Vineyards.
3. EATING BOMBA AT ENRICO
You cannot get any closer to the beach than this and with food this good you are in a little piece of heaven. Just past plett in Keurbooms beach you’ll find this festive gem. Take a long walk to get your appetite whet and be sure you try the Bomba!
4. TAKING A BOAT TRIP UP THE KEURBOOMS RIVER
Whether you love water sports or just cruising checking out teeny river jellyfish and fish eagles, you will love the tranquillity as you cruise up the river. You’ll can skiing right next to curious otters and make sure to picnic at one of the three gorgeous spots up river.
5. HAVING BREAKFAST AT THE HAKERVILLE FARMERS MARKET
Harkerville Market is a rustic and vibey food and craft market deep in the heart of the Garden Route, midway between Plettenberg Bay & Knysna on the N2. Open on Saturday mornings only – the farmers breakfast is a definite have to, and if you can find the fudge lady – that ginger fudge – there are no words!!
6. FOR A BIT OF TREAT – DINNER AT ZINZI
Zinzi is a delish treat, great food with a romantic atmosphere just outside of Plett. The menu is seasonal and locally sourced and the food is too beautiful to eat. You simply have to spoil yourself with a special meal here one night.
7. HIKING THE ROBBERG NATURE RESERVE
Nothing can prepare you for the gorgeous views you get atop this spectacular hiking path. The route is a circular trail along the Robberg peninsula with two shorter variations available ranging from easy to moderate. This is not your average Saturday afternoon stroll but once you’ve done it, you’ll realize just how special this particular stroll is!
8. GOING STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING ON THE LAGOON
Hire a board and take a peaceful paddle across the lagoon – surrounded by water boards and curious fish jumping up beside you, its a special kind of happiness! And you’ll get a bit of a work-out too.
9. HAVING BREAKFAST AT THE LOOK-OUT DECK
There’s nothing better than a fry up after a long beach walk! And you cannot get a better breakfast view than this – sit on the deck and enjoy sweeping views of the morning beach whilst sipping you coffee – unbeatable.
10. WANDERING AROUND THE VILLAGE
There is absolutely nothing better after a day at the beach than wandering around Plett’s gorgeous little shoppies. Have croissants at Le Fournil and explore the harvest table at Clare’s; browse the Village Bookstore and look for previously loved treasures at Old & New. There’s something for everyone!
